UV Inkjet Flatbed Printer Debuts at FESPA Digital

(NPES International Printing E-Commerce Network 2009-04-02) Fujifilm Sericol will launch its latest wide format printer, the Inca Onset S20, together with the Spyder V at the FESPA Digital Europe 2009 exhibition from 12 - 14 May in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The Onset S20 is a UV curing inkjet flatbed printer that is claimed to have production speeds of 250 square metres per hour and 50 full bed sheets (3.12m x 1.6m) with the ability to process substrates as thick as 50mm.

Fujifilm believes that the printers represent a change in dynamics for the industry, as digital flatbed print becomes an economical method of producing high-impact visual images.

Fujifilm Sericol will also show the Spyder V with the Uvijet Ultratone ink system.

Based on the design of the Spyder 320, the Spyder V has a claimed production speed of up to 93 square metres per hour onto a range of flexible and rigid substrates of up to 30mm thick.

The Ultratone ink system is said to increase the colour gamut, producing improved colour reproduction and more accurate spot colours.

The company will also exhibit the Acuity Advance X2, a wide format UV inkjet printer with an additional white ink option that is claimed to allow in-line printing.

It has a print area double that of the current Acuity Advance and it has a claimed speed of 22 square metres per hour in production mode and 15 square metres per hour in high quality mode.

Fujifilm says that the Acuity Advance X2 prints near photo-realistic quality onto substrates of 3.05m x 2.5m and as thick as 48mm.

Completing the line-up at FESPA Digital Europe 2009, Fujifilm Sericol's Euromedia, which provides a dedicated service for wide format printing, will complement the company's flatbed offering.

The media, software, inks and support comprises hundreds of media products for all water-based, solvent-based and laminating applications from posters, indoor and outdoor banners, flags, exhibition graphics, signmaking and vehicle wraps to backlit and art prints.
