Three Paper Manufacturers in the top 500 Chinese Enterprises List

The Publication of the top 500 Chinese enterprises and China Business Summit 2008 held yesterday in Yinchuan, in which came out the list of the top 500 Chinese enterprises. This top 500 Chinese enterprises list public to society at the seventh time according to international practice, which the China Enterprise Confederation and the Chinese Entrepreneurs Association are under the support of the China Enterprise Confederation system and relevant enterprises, and the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation still remained stable on top of the list. Chenming Paper, Gold East Paper, Jiu Long Paper are selected into the top 500 Chinese enterprises which respectively ranked 303, 477 and 482.

The data show that, the threshold of the top 500 Chinese enterprises selection also increased substantially due to good momentum of China's large enterprises and the rapid growth of their overall size. According to the Chinese Enterprises Association, the threshold of the top 500 Chinese enterprises is 9.31 billion yuan in 2008, which raised 2.1 billion yuan compared with the previous year. The threshold of China's top 500 manufacturers is 4.38 billion yuan in 2008 ,which raised 1.41 billion yuan compared with the previous year; The threshold of China's service industry's top 500 companies is 980 million yuan in 2008,which raised 260 million yuan compared with the previous year.

Statistics show that the operating income of China's top 500 enterprises amounted to 21.86 trillion yuan in 2008, which increased 20.0% compared to last year. The operating income of China's top 500 manufacturing enterprises amounted to 10.1 trillion yuan in 2008, which increased 32.8%. The operating income of China's top 500 service enterprises amounted to 9.2 trillion yuan in 2008, which increased 21.6%. Statistical result show that the operating income, total profits and total assets of the top 500 Chinese enterprises in 2008 were equivalent to 12.67 %、11.85% and 7.79% respectively of the world top 500 enterprises in 2008, its operating income, the proportion of total profits improved substantially compared with the previous year, which showed that the gap between the top 500 Chinese enterprises and the world top 500 enterprises are further narrowing.
